Let's talk about teaching music

Children are not only joy, they are a diamond that must be believed in and constantly polished, today's children are tomorrow's adults, and we must help them realize their dreams.

And for the introduction, a short background story:

When I was a little boy I dreamed of playing drums and a guitar, the closest thing to a guitar I met at the time was a toy guitar that my uncle Yaakov bought me, and the closest thing to drums were a darbuka and a miriam drum that were hidden in some closet at my parents' house.

In the kibbutz there was a set of drums that we were only allowed to look at, and woe betide the boy who even dreamed of touching it, let alone sitting on the drummer's chair and exploring, touching, and tapping on it... oh woe!

Later I realized my dreams little by little, and even founded several musical ensembles, among them "The Yellow Ashtray" (a mythological ensemble of a former anchor conducted by Shlomo Beja, who was a spiritual musical father to all of us) and from there we founded the "Clibeg" A fine cover band that came all the way to Tel Aviv and starred with Oded Tsafeti in a crazy show at the Ha'on bar.

And from there, when I grew up a little more, I already established the "Tamimi Deim" life group. The composition of original material that worked continuously for 5 years with more than 120 performances throughout the country and at the biggest festivals, 12 discs of studio recordings and live performances, and about 60 songs that are recorded in Ak'um.

On consensus, and credit to partners on the Asper journey in a separate post.

And today, as part of my occupation,

I opened a music class, a class for making dreams come true.

I don't have enough words to describe the feeling of pride and satisfaction, when I witness the personal, emotional, and mental development of the children who come to play and study with me.

We work and study seriously, study music in all styles, learn rhythms and a bit of theory, play drums, guitars and piano, sing a lot, do karaoke, and always always leave time and space for moments of silliness, because it is no less important. And they, for their part, invest, study at home, and really jump a step every week.

And every time it's a bit difficult or "boring", I remind them how important persistence is, and how amazing it is that they live in a world where all the possibilities to develop are open to them.

So to you parents, don't forget to polish your diamonds, make their dreams come true, because this is actually the essence of life.
